Whether you are putting in a new bathroom in your Albuquerque home or are redoing your existing bathroom, one of the things you are likely going to want to update is your tile. In order to stay fresh and up to date, it is necessary to look into current bathroom tile trends and match them with your own sense of style, whether it is modern/contemporary, outdoorsy, or more classic and streamlined. Our design team at the Poulin Design Center is ready to help you create the bathroom of your dreams!
Getting the Outdoorsy Look
Rustic bathrooms have been a popular trend recently, and the look can be achieved in various ways. One way to achieve it is to have your bathroom tile installation include wood-like tile either on the floor, on the wall, or both. At first glance, this ceramic or vinyl tile looks like hardwood but has a much higher level of moisture resistance. Many people like to pair the wood tile look with greens, blues, and browns to continue the “back to nature” theme. To add in a bit more of a modern or contrasted look, glass tiles and metal fixtures can be added as well.
An Ombre Bathroom
Plain solid color tile can look a bit outdated for bathroom design these days. Ombre has become a popular trend that gives a unique look without being too drastic. An ombre color scheme uses tiles in different shades of the same color and arranges them to get progressively darker or lighter. The tiles can be cascaded in a relatively straightforward way, or show off a more zig-zag look that the southwest is known for.
Classic, With a Touch of Texture
If the solid, neutral color is your style, you can still bring a bit of pizazz to your bathroom flooring or wall tile by choosing a soft texture to the tile. This can be brought into the shower, or be a backsplash over the sink.
A bathroom is a place you want to feel comfortable, whether it is your main bathroom or an extra bathroom for guests. You also need to make sure that your style choices fit your budget.
